![]() Speaking of the jump boots, I felt like you should have gotten the jump boots first, and the jump pack second. (Though, admittedly, most people will be mindlessly following the blue line and so won't ever have this problem.) Either one would have been far less immersion-destroying than just arbitrarily denying access to the gun for no seeming reason. Or, they could have put the gun in the communications center - then there would have at least been some kind of in-game reason for denying access to it. But they could have just kept the communications center room door locked, and allowed access to the gun. I realize that they probably felt like they had to do it this way, due to a story element that happens right after you get the good gun. I was annoyed when I was forced to get the jump boots before the good gun. But more than that, how come the player never gets to use the mechs, huh? They're awesome, and we should have had a chance to try one out. His foam wasn't a sufficient to keep me at bay. I just kept running under him, then shooting from below and behind. The biped, in particular, fell with barely a fight. Other flaws? Well, I felt like the mech battles were a little easy. Prior to that point, the blue line will show you exactly where to go, so you won't need an external map. No real shame in looking up the item locations at that point. And by that time, your armor will be at 90% capacity anyway, and you'll be easily capable of crushing the last battle. Making the long journey to every question mark/item location on the map, just on the off chance it's a passkey, is too much of a pain. So getting around becomes a real pain in the ass. And you're denied access through the center of the map because of. At that point, it's a matter of collecting 12 passkeys that are very well hidden. Specifically, not until you're on the hunt for the last suit component, the fusion helmet. I wouldn't use the cheat map until late in the game. The above map shows you how, via linked youtube clips. #Shadow complex map missing blue line how toAlthough you will get a full map of the game about 3/4 through, it only tells you that an item is in a certain map section - not how to get to it. ![]() One of SC's few flaws is that one or two of the pickups are completely friggin' impossible to figure out how to get to. #Shadow complex map missing blue line downloadThe demo is free on 360 Live - download it and try it out. If you like those Super Metroid / Castlevania: SOTN type games, and you like Tom Clancy-esque sci-fi, you'll probably like it. In terms of fun/dollar, it comes close to Portal. I also appreciate the price - SC is easily a $30 game, but it's only $15 on Live. I've been playing it until 1am for the last few nights, in spite of trying to stop myself. You can stop watching the first one after you see the bit about the "rising water boss battle", and I didn't even bother with the second one.) SC isn't perfect, but I have found it to be a heck of a lot of fun. (Watch out for the videos on that review - they get spoileriffic pretty quick. ![]()
